  1. Complete page 12 of your Compact Workbook.  Click here for the audio.
  2. Click on the link.  Complete and check exercises 5 and 6 on Forming Adjectives & Adverbs and Difficult Spelling.  Write your answers in your notebook.
  3. Click here to complete a word formation activity.  If you need help, use the table we completed in class to help you.

  2. Complete the Reading Exam Task and activity 6 on pages 26-27 of your Compact Student’s book.
  3. Click here to do a Listening Part 3 in your notebook.  Check your answers and write your results in your notebook.
  4. Click on the link.  Complete and check exercises 3 and 4 on Forming Opposite Meanings and Forming Verbs.  Write your answers in your notebook.

  1. Quiz: Study the phrasal verb pictures worksheet you were given in class.  Choose 10 and write a sentence.
  2. Click on the link.  Complete and check exercises 1 and 2 on Forming Nouns.  Write your answers in your notebook.
  3. Click here to a see a Speaking Part 2 picture (slide 2).  Using the Speaking Part 2 Useful Phrases, WRITE your answer for this task: Your pictures show people cooking in different situations.  I’d like you to compare the photographs and say what is difficult about making meals in each of these situations.
  4. If you have not already done so, do the EXAM TASK on page 22 of your Compact Student’s book.  Please write your ARTICLE on a separate sheet of paper which you can hand in to me. See pages 91 and 92 for help on writing an article.  Remember to make your article interesting!

  2. Click here to a see a Speaking Part 2 picture (slide 2).  Using the Speaking Part 2 Useful Phrases, WRITE your answer for this task: Your pictures show people cooking in different situations.  I’d like you to compare the photographs and say what is difficult about making meals in each of these situations.
  3. Finish page 23 of your Compact Student’s book.
  4. Do the activities on page 22 of your Compact Student’s book and then do the EXAM TASK.  Please write your ARTICLE on a separate sheet of paper which you can hand in to me.

Day 12

  1. Complete all parts of the FCE exam I gave you in class by January 8, 2020. 
    1. Reading and Use of English: Parts 1-7
    2. Writing: Do Part 1 and choose one option from Part 2.  Remember to connect your ideas with relative pronouns and linking expreessions. 
    3. Listening: Parts 1-4.  Check to see which version of the exam you have and click on these links to do the listening:      Test 1    Test 4
  2. Try watching a TED talk. Choose a short video about a topic that you are interested in.  Watch the video at least once without subtitles. If you don’t understand, you can watch the video again with the subtitles IN ENGLISH.  Write down new vocabulary that you learn and write a summary of the talk.  
  3. Try doing some reading activities from one of these websites:  British Council, News in Levels (Choose Level 3).  Merry Christmas!

Day 11

  1. Study the phrases and prepositions 1-10 on the worksheet What Are The Missing Words?  In your notebook, write a sentence about yourself with each one.

  4. Read activity 5 and the purple Quick Steps box on page 16 of your Compact Student’s book.  Then complete the exam task on page 17.  When you have finished, complete Activity 7 on page 16.
